We Have to Remember to Choose Happiness

If you are ever feeling down, let this kid inspire you that no matter how old you are, or where you are, you have to be yourself and dance.  Sometimes we let the hurt from the past cloud the adults we are today, and forget that we used to be carefree, we used to not worry so much.  As an adult, you can do that too by choosing happiness.  Choosing to not let the overwhelming negativity consume us.  If you find that choice hard, take a good look at what is surrounding you: drugs? alcohol? toxic friends or family members? Take a stand for your own well being and make a change.  Choose to be positive and speak positively in every encounter you have.  There is power in this, and that power will transform your life.

Stay beautiful!

Tasty Tuesday – Pot Pies!

Since Winter is finally winding down, I wanted to post one last hot, home made meal for you all to enjoy.  There are a lot of pre-made frozen items we love, but don’t realize how easy they are to make at home.  You probably have most of the ingredients already in your pantry.  I love pot pies because they are amazingly delicious!

“What Do You Do For a Living?”

FirstDate1

I generally can not stand this question when first meeting people.  Yes, I understand we are moving toward a 100% connected society, and not just in America – we’re talking global networking here!  That is amazing really.  I also understand asking this question is the basis of networking, but let’s talk honestly about the underlining meaning of asking this question.  We can conduct business around the world or even meet a future romantic partner in another country.  So, why are so many preoccupied in asking about how someone makes money?  We are all aware it has to happen in order for all of us to survive, but why do we all really care?

What do you do for a living?

Tasty Tuesday – Gardein Brand

I grew up eating vegetarian meat, tofu, and various vegetables along with kosher meat and kosher fish.  I knew it wasn’t the norm when I was a child, and now as an adult, it’s not really the norm so much as it’s merely a trend.  I know in other cultures, and on the west coast of the US, eating healthy is more common, more the norm, but here on the east coast it is damn near impossible to find healthy alternatives for cooking.  I was told recently that Target started their own line of vegetarian meat, so I had to buy some and test it out.  Good vegetarian meat and tofu can be cooked the same way you cook traditional meat.  Do you enjoy BBQ chicken?  You can season vegetarian chicken to taste just the same.  Believe me, it’s just as good, if not better, and much healthier.  While eating too much soy isn’t healthy, it is important to substitute the veggie meat with real vegetables too.  Continue to check back for more mouthwatering vegetarian recipes!
