This past month my son started the next level up at his karate school. He has been doing karate for a while now and has come to love everything it has to offer him. From learning how to defend himself to the discipline and making new friends, it has made for a great addition to his already packed schedule.
I hope you all had a wonderful Friday night. Whether you relaxed at home after a long week, or ventured out with friends and loved ones to dance the night away, I hope it helped you recharge. I had the pleasure of attending a friend’s dinner party with a fun Halloween theme. The food was fantastic as was the company. I was finally able to wear a Boohoo dress I purchased. It’s black and white with long sleeves. It was perfect for last night since it was so cool out in my neck of the woods. I paired it with my black Jessica Simpson stilettos and statement jewelry worked out well.
Whatever you are getting into today, make it beautiful!
I was at the dentist not too long ago chatting with the hygienist like I normally do. [It’s always good to be friendly with everyone you meet, plus your interaction with them will show you what kind of business they are as a whole. If a receptionist / front desk person is rude it is very unlikely that I will patron that business again. That always tells me that the owner either doesn’t really care about their customers because they hired someone so rude on their front lines, or the owner doesn’t make sound business decisions and you can expect poor work when you interact with him or her when the time comes.] The topic of the upcoming holidays came up, which is expected since we are weeks away from Halloween, and then the anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas follows shortly after. She made a comment about how expensive it gets this time of year. I mentioned about how I put money aside to I won’t go further into debt starting in August and September. She was amazed that I was so diligent about not over spending or relying on credit cards, how it is something she could never do. I told her that it was a lot easier than she realized and even putting away a little each week adds up a lot faster than she realized.
One of the things I enjoy doing is having a booth at trade shows or fairs. I like getting out there and talking with others because you never know who you will end up meeting. Yesterday I had another one.
This fair’s focus was on health, and my booth contained a lot of great info pertaining to kids and families. All the important topics such as bullying, smoking, addiction, suicide, and many more. There were a lot of great other vendors too with various important subjects. Minus my sunburn, I had fun.
It’s a cool and cloudy day here on the east coast this morning. I’m enjoying my coffee slowly while wishing I had a warmer to set my mug on. I was thinking this morning about how connected the world is these days but some of our personal relationships could use a boost. Whether it’s a social boost or simply your friends or loved ones need to know you care about them or need to hear again how much you love them. The simple fact that we can send a tweet and within seconds it reaches the far corners of the world and how incredible that is, yet we barely speak to family members or we put off time for friends because we assume tomorrow is granted to us. I understand we may not have the time to sit down for an hour a day and gab but even a simple text, email or voice message goes a long way.
Take a moment today to reach out to someone or a few people who may need to hear that message more than you feel like sending it. Love is the cureall.
