And when we drift off to sleep, we know we’re safe because you always made sure we were safe and warm.
Mother’s Day is more than simply a day on the calendar. It’s a time to remember who cared for us and nourished our souls. It doesn’t matter how you became a mother. What matters is the love you give to others selflessly. It’s not easy to love someone else unconditionally. It requires ongoing sacrifice of your time, energy, and spirit. So many of us out there do this without hesitation on a daily basis. You are deserving on praise not only today but every day.
If this is a tough weekend for you, my heart goes out to you. So many of us lose our parents too soon, as I’ve lost my father almost 13 years ago and my mother currently isn’t doing well. Life keeps moving forward with little regard for who we love and care for hanging in the balance.
Even if you aren’t a Mother, spread some love this weekend. Someone out there needs a touch of kindness.
