Losing Ruth Bader Ginsburg is simply devastating. She was an incredibly woman that believed in equality and fought for all of us. Her passing is a strong reminder that we need to continue the fight for equality in America. Justices who think like her should be the norm not an exception.
Let us all give her the proper respect, honor, and justice she deserves by registering to vote if you haven’t already and getting out to vote on November 3rd, 2020. Either vote at your local polling location or requesting your ballot and dropping it off at a local ballot box. With all the issues and delays going on with the USPS, I’d utilize dropping off your ballot instead of mailing it back.
I think it’s important to discuss politics. I know it’s one of the subjects, like religion, that often gets swept under the rug due to how heated those conversations can become. I think it’s important to question why we believe what we believe and also what we believe. I firmly think that all politicians should earn your vote. They are put in office to represent you and your collective values to enact change if necessary, and to keep moving us forward as a society. In both 2016 and currently, I am a strong supporter of Bernie Sanders. I believe that progressive movement in politics are the revolution that America needs at this moment. He has a lot of views on his platform that America as a whole needs to start embracing if we intend to leave a thriving country for our grandchildren, great grandchildren, and beyond.
With that being said, I do feel that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris earned my vote in this current election. If you are someone who is unsure or uncomfortable as to why this pairing is the best choice, I invite you to do some research on both and compare it to what we have had to deal with the last 4 years. We deserve to have leaders that will lead us in a healthy and respectable direction. I do understand how hard it can be to vote for someone who isn’t exactly who you hoped for. I wanted nothing more than to be able to cast a ballot for Bernie Sanders as President. I feel he is exactly who should be in office but that isn’t where we are right now. We have to unite together for progress once and for all!
Let’s get our country back on track! We can do it by working together.
