I bought this on a whim because my usual Dove product was out of stock. I have to say it made my skin feel incredibly silly soft. You know, “like buttah.” I have no clue if this is a seasonal item or a short term trial product, but I am glad it crossed my path. After using it, I didn’t feel the need to apply much lotion either. I have been only using it a few days but out of 7 days, I will break up the routine with a body scrub body wash. I wouldn’t want all the shea butter to clog any pores, which does happen. Body acne and blackheads are no joke!
How often do you change from your usual routine? Which products do you like to throw in from time to time?
The past few days have been a reminder that the Summer heat is right around the corner. This prompted me to stock up on some summer hair supplies for when it is pointless to use a blow dryer and other styling tools.
For my curly haired mavens, Dove makes a great whipped mousse product that is inexpensive. Suave does as well and is even cheaper. I usually finish off the style with Dove’s hairspray. I’ve never been a fan of putting all those creams & salvs in your hair. Avocado and mayo should be kept in your sandwich, not topped on your head. I also don’t believe a lot of those “all natural” items work well. Dove really does have a fantastic line of products for just about every hair type. From coarse and dry, to thin and oily – there is something for you to maintain your coif and it’s not too expensive. All hair needs proper moisturizer, and proper cleansing. Don’t neglect it!

Remember if you are going swimming in the pool to not add any product to your hair. If you do have something in your hair, rinse it out before going for a dip. The chemicals in the pool water will dry your hair out. Once you are done swimming, rinse your hair out with clean water if you are able until you can wash your hair.
I usually add baby shampoo to my hair washing routine in the summer since I am washing my hair more often. It cleans well without weighing your hair down and is inexpensive. You don’t have to buy name brand baby shampoo, the store brand works just as well. Don’t forget the conditioner either. Chlorine dries your hair out big time. If you are an avid swimmer this summer season, deep condition your hair every 2 weeks. A lot of companies make a product that claims to work “the best.” Dove makes a great one that works well and isn’t expensive. You do not have to spend the big bucks for healthy hair.
Keep it simple, moisturized and healthy this summer!
