Buffalo Chicken Chili? Extra Yum

I came across this recipe known as “Buffalo Chicken Chili” by the group known as Tasty on Facebook.  I’m sure you have seen many of their creations shared or liked by your friends and family on there.  It seemed simple enough and tasty enough to give it a try (especially if you are looking for something to make for an upcoming Super Bowl party).  It also included my favorite kitchen tool:  the Crockpot.  If you don’t own one or barely use yours, you are missing out!  The original recipe is listed below but I added my comments on how I modified it.

Tasty Tuesday – Mac & Cheese With Ease

Yum
Yum

I’ve heard quite a few times lately how “hard” macaroni and cheese is to make, or how “time consuming” the process is.  I usually ask what kind of mac & cheese they are used to making or eating, and for the most part if it isn’t that heavily processed “easy mac,” it’s a variation of some southern recipe of mac & cheese.  I can’t stomach either kind.  The easy mac usually makes a not so easy and quick exit, as does the heavy, and greasy southern style option.  >Shudder<  I offer you a simple, anyone can do it, style that is cost effective, can be decreased or increased depending on your needs, and easy to customize to your preferences.

Tasty Tuesday – Pot Pies!

Since Winter is finally winding down, I wanted to post one last hot, home made meal for you all to enjoy.  There are a lot of pre-made frozen items we love, but don’t realize how easy they are to make at home.  You probably have most of the ingredients already in your pantry.  I love pot pies because they are amazingly delicious!

Tasty Tuesday – Gardein Brand

I grew up eating vegetarian meat, tofu, and various vegetables along with kosher meat and kosher fish.  I knew it wasn’t the norm when I was a child, and now as an adult, it’s not really the norm so much as it’s merely a trend.  I know in other cultures, and on the west coast of the US, eating healthy is more common, more the norm, but here on the east coast it is damn near impossible to find healthy alternatives for cooking.  I was told recently that Target started their own line of vegetarian meat, so I had to buy some and test it out.  Good vegetarian meat and tofu can be cooked the same way you cook traditional meat.  Do you enjoy BBQ chicken?  You can season vegetarian chicken to taste just the same.  Believe me, it’s just as good, if not better, and much healthier.  While eating too much soy isn’t healthy, it is important to substitute the veggie meat with real vegetables too.  Continue to check back for more mouthwatering vegetarian recipes!
