Let’s Get Moving!

We always hear about how Suzie Sunshine found an extra 1000 hours in her day to run 50 miles a week and has it all tracked in her app – but what about the rest of us?  How exactly are we supposed to find time to fit in a productive workout in our already busy lives?  Yes, it is possible to wake up early and hit the gym or morning run before work, but most of us want that hour of sleep or we are using that hour to get our family ready for their day.  What are some realistic ways to fit in proper fitness through our days?

Getting into the Groove

I work out.  I lift weights.  I eat healthy for the most part.  I started committing more time and energy in all this back in Dec of 2012.  I have not kept tract of weight or inches lost but I can feel and see differences.  No matter what, I try to commit at least 30 minutes a day to being active.  Sometimes I hate working out, especially in the summer.  It’s so hot out and I feel lazy.  Who wants to exercise for an hour in this heat?  Ugh.

So, I have made a conscience effort as of late to start doing more despite the weather.  This new relationship has equaled me (and him actually) gaining weight.  It’s disturbing how much truth there is when they say you gain “happy weight.”  Who’s happy about an extra 10lbs?  Ha!  I’m not saying I will become a size 2 ever – it’s not going to happen on my frame BUT (butt – lol)  I want to look better naked, slow down the aging process, be healthier and have more kids soon.

The only workout I do on a consistent basis is various weight lifting exercises and squats.  I keep debating on joining a gym so it will help motivate me in doing more cardio but we’ll see.  I might opt for different fun classes so I won’t get bored.  Pilates is always a good time / serious kick in the butt and I have yet to try Zumba.

What are you doing to stay healthy?
